Bybit Pay Launches Yape QR Crypto Payments In Bolivia
Bybit has integrated Yape QR payments into its Bybit Pay platform in Bolivia, allowing users to spend cryptocurrency at local merchants and online retailers through one of the country's most widely used mobile payment apps.
The integration enables Bolivia-based users to scan Yape QR codes at participating merchants in the same way they would for a standard transaction, with the cryptocurrency conversion handled in the background. Bybit Pay supports the QR-based payment flow without requiring changes to how consumers or merchants interact with the Yape system.
To coincide with the launch, Bybit Pay is offering promotional incentives for Bolivia users. New users are eligible for a 50 per cent discount coupon on their first Yape QR payment, while existing users can receive cashback of between 2 and 10 per cent on each Yape QR transaction, subject to applicable terms.
Patricio Mesri, Country Manager for Spanish-Speaking LATAM, Bybit commented:
"We are among the first exchanges to launch a crypto payment solution integrated with Yape QR in Bolivia. By integrating crypto payments into a widely used QR system, we are enabling real-world usage while moving fast to deliver practical value for everyday transactions."
Yape is one of the most widely used digital wallets in Peru, with more than 15 million active users. Since entering Bolivia in 2023, the platform has grown to more than 3 million users and a broad network of affiliated merchants. Across both markets, Yape serves more than 18 million users in total. The platform has stated a long-term goal of reaching around half of Bolivia's population in the coming years.

Federico Goldberg, CEO, Manteca said:
"This launch demonstrates how crypto payments can integrate seamlessly into existing QR payment rails in LATAM, without changing user behaviour. By enabling local payment methods at scale, we partner with Bybit to bring digital assets into everyday commerce."
The rollout forms part of Bybit's broader push to expand crypto payment infrastructure across Latin America, where demand for practical digital asset use cases continues to develop. Bybit is the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, serving a global community of over 80 million users. Founded in 2018, the company is focused on Web3 development and partners with blockchain protocols to support on-chain infrastructure.
