## What Is Uniswap (V2)?

Uniswap is a [decentralized exchange](https://coinmarketcap.com/alexandria/glossary/decentralized-exchange-dex) (DEX) which first introduced the [automated market maker](https://coinmarketcap.com/alexandria/glossary/automated-market-maker-amm) (AMM) model. It also introduced protocol fees, which contributed to the platform's ongoing development.
