ATB Securities Inc. Receives Government Securities Distributor Status from Bank of Canada

ATB Securities Inc., the legal entity of ATB Capital Markets, has been designated as a Government Securities Distributor (GSD) by the Bank of Canada.
The designation, granted on behalf of the Government of Canada, enables ATB Securities Inc. to participate directly in the primary distribution of Government of Canada marketable bonds and treasury bills through Bank of Canada auctions.
In its new role as a GSD, the Calgary-based firm will serve as an intermediary between the federal government and institutional investors in the trading of government securities.
"Achieving status as a Government Securities Distributor is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) team and underscores ATB Financial's deep commitment to the Canadian fixed income market," said Darren Eurich, CEO of ATB Capital Markets. "This milestone enhances our ability to provide comprehensive financial solutions to our clients and strengthens our position within the industry."
The company noted that this achievement required significant capital commitment and long-term dedication, reflecting ATB Capital Markets' focus on expanding its fixed income capabilities. The new status will allow the firm to directly facilitate transactions of Treasury Bills and Government of Canada Bonds on behalf of clients.
ATB Securities Inc. operates as Broker/Dealer #03 on the Toronto Stock Exchange and functions as the capital markets arm of ATB Financial, an Alberta-based financial institution managing $65.5 billion in assets.
