Clearstream has become the only central securities depository (CSD) to provide full tri-party collateral management integration with the Eurosystem Collateral Management System (ECMS), following the launch of the European Central Bank’s (ECB) unified platform on 16 June 2025.
The ECMS is designed to serve as a single pool of collateral for all Eurozone national central banks, replacing previously fragmented national systems. The platform aims to streamline cross-border collateral mobility, enhance operational efficiency, and improve access to central bank liquidity across the Eurozone.
Clearstream’s new solution allows market participants to leverage the ECMS for both bilateral and tri-party collateral movements. Through its Pan-European CSD Solution, Clearstream facilitates the safekeeping and transfer of all ECB-eligible marketable assets, connecting clients to all T2S markets and asset classes for seamless cross-border investments.

Marton Szigeti, Head of Collateral, Lending and Liquidity Solutions at Clearstream
Marton Szigeti, Head of Collateral, Lending and Liquidity Solutions at Clearstream, commented: “Clearstream’s ECMS tri-party solution is a cornerstone of the industry’s move toward harmonised post-trade infrastructures and real-time collateral mobility, supporting the transition to T+1 and the goals of a European Savings and Investments Union. We are very proud to have been able to offer integrated access to the ECMS via our unique tri-party collateral management capabilities as of day 1.”
