DeFi Technologies' subsidiary Valour has launched what it claims is the world's first physical yield-bearing Bitcoin ETP on Deutsche Börse's Xetra platform, offering German investors Bitcoin exposure with a 1.40% fixed yield.
The 1Valour Bitcoin Physical Staking ETP (1VBS) commenced trading on 1 November with a 0.9% management fee. The product generates yield by delegating Bitcoins to validators on the Core blockchain network, which is powered by Bitcoin and offers Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility.
This launch expands Valour's existing suite of cryptocurrency ETPs on Xetra. The new product aims to simplify Bitcoin investment by handling the technical complexities of staking while maintaining custodial control of the underlying assets.
Elaine Buehler, Head of Product at Valour, explained: "This new staking ETP represents a significant opportunity to investors. 1VBS not only invests the world's strongest crypto currency but also generates passive income through an innovative staking mechanism. This dual benefit enhances an investor's investment strategy while simplifying the process, allowing the earning of rewards without the technical complexities of managing underlying assets and staking process. It is a compelling option for informed investors seeking to grow their portfolios in a regulated environment."
The product works by delegating Bitcoins to Core Chain validators through non-custodial, native Bitcoin staking. The staking rewards, received as CORE tokens, are converted to Bitcoin daily and added to the ETP's Net Asset Value (NAV). Throughout this process, Valour maintains full custodial control of the underlying Bitcoin assets.
Olivier Roussy Newton, CEO of DeFi Technologies, said: “We're thrilled to bring German investors a new, physically backed, yield-bearing Bitcoin ETP on Xetra, offering secure and simplified access to Bitcoin's growth potential with an attractive initial fixed yield of 1.40%. This partnership with Core Foundation underscores our commitment to developing trusted, institutionally aligned digital asset solutions. By maintaining full custodial control within a compliant framework, we enable investors to benefit from Bitcoin staking with the security and confidence they expect from regulated financial products.”
