Interactive Brokers Adds Indian Market Access through Nifty 50 Index Futures on Singapore Exchange

Interactive Brokers has expanded its derivatives offering by launching NSE IFSC Nifty 50 Index Futures on the Singapore Exchange (SGX), providing traders with access to India's benchmark equity index.
This addition allows Interactive Brokers' clients to gain exposure to India's largest listed companies through a USD-denominated futures contract, complementing the broker's existing offering of products from more than 160 global exchanges.
The Nifty 50 Index is widely regarded as India's primary equity benchmark, tracking the performance of the 50 largest and most liquid companies listed on India's National Stock Exchange (NSE). The index encompasses major sectors including financial services, technology, oil and gas, and consumer goods.
Milan Galik, Chief Executive Officer of Interactive Brokers, commented: "By offering Nifty 50 Index Futures, we are giving our clients an easy way to tap into the opportunities in India's expanding market. This launch reflects our ongoing commitment to providing access to a broad range of global products, particularly for active traders and institutional investors."
The futures contracts are available through the NSE IFSC-SGX Connect, a trading link that integrates international and onshore market participants. This structure aims to enhance liquidity and provide greater efficiency for trading Nifty 50 products while allowing international investors to access India's markets through a familiar exchange infrastructure.
The Nifty 50 futures provide a capital-efficient means for both individual and institutional investors to manage portfolio risk and diversify into India's growing economy using a single, liquid derivative product.
Interactive Brokers, which is listed on the Nasdaq under the ticker IBKR, continues to expand its global market access as part of its strategy to provide comprehensive trading solutions across asset classes. Clients can trade these futures contracts using the company's trading platforms available on mobile, web, and desktop.
