Rich Repetto Joins Interactive brokers as Independent Director

January 02, 2024 - Interactive Brokers (Nasdaq: IBKR), a global electronic brokerage firm, has named Rich Repetto as an independent member of its board effective from January 1, 2024.

 

Thomas Peterffy, Founder and Chairman of Interactive Brokers, stated, “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Rich to the Board of Directors following his distinguished career where he pioneered the research of electronic brokers and exchanges. Mr. Repetto’s extensive knowledge and understanding of the electronic investing and trading industry brings an important perspective to the Board, and we look forward to benefiting from his insights.”

 

Mr. Repetto is recognised for his 25-year tenure as a research analyst, focusing on electronic trading and financial technology sectors. He retired as Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst at Piper Sandler in June 2023. His career includes notable achievements such as receiving the Financial Times/StarMine “Analyst of the Year” Award in 2010 and “Global Analyst of the Year” in 2012.

 

His professional background encompasses roles such as Principal at Sandler O’Neill for about two decades, and prior to that, a position as Managing Director and analyst with Putnam Lovell NBF. Mr. Repetto also initiated Lehman Brothers' coverage of the Internet financial services sector, after a 10-year stint in sales and marketing at Mobil.

 

Educationally, Mr. Repetto holds a BS in general engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He served as a helicopter pilot in the US Army for five years.

 

Mr. Repetto is also active in charitable work and was recently honored by Tuesday's Children for his contributions to families affected by terrorism, military conflicts, and mass violence as their 2023 Military and Finance Industry honoree.
