XTB has launched a real-time in-app call verification feature designed to help clients confirm whether a phone call is genuinely coming from the broker, as financial institutions face mounting pressure to address the growing threat of voice-based fraud.

The move comes against a backdrop of escalating cyberthreats targeting retail investors. Vishing — voice phishing — attacks surged by 442% between the first and second halves of 2024, according to the 2025 Global Threat Report by CrowdStrike, which also highlighted social engineering as an increasingly dominant attack vector. The human element remains central to most cybersecurity breaches.

The new feature, integrated directly into the XTB investment app, allows clients to request a real-time push notification whenever a customer support or sales representative contacts them by phone. The notification confirms the caller's identity, giving users an immediate way to verify that the call is legitimate before engaging further.

The feature also simplifies the identity verification process for inbound customer support interactions. Rather than answering multiple security questions, clients can now approve a push notification within the app to confirm their identity.
