Rostro Group has launched institutional-grade digital asset derivatives trading infrastructure, marking the Dubai-based fintech's expansion into cryptocurrency markets through its Scope Prime division.
The service provides institutional clients with a single platform for accessing both traditional CFD instruments and cryptocurrency CFDs, utilising multiple liquidity sources for price construction. Existing Scope Prime customers will be the first to access the new offering.
Michael Ayres, Group CEO & Partner at Rostro Group
Michael Ayres, Group CEO & Partner at Rostro Group, said: "The popularity of digital asset trading and investing has grown significantly in recent years, yet the decentralised nature of the underlying asset means that market functions have remained somewhat siloed. The launch of the Rostro Prime of Prime liquidity service on digital asset derivatives allows us to leverage our strong existing relationships with clearers, liquidity providers and clients to deliver comprehensive pricing and execution."
The prime brokerage service operates with margin requirements ranging from 2% to 20%, depending on client trading activity and risk appetite. Rostro's aggregation technology compares pricing and market depth across multiple exchanges and over-the-counter dealers.
The platform has been designed to streamline the addition of new assets, with the technology structured to minimise deployment times whilst maximising functionality. Initially offering CFDs, Rostro plans further product development including digital asset payment solutions and spot trading capabilities.
Rostro Group appointed Mark Foulger Managing Director of Digital Asset Innovation in August 2024 to oversee strategic planning for the digital asset class, including the development of systematic market making and automated risk management strategies. Commenting on the launch of Institutional trading for Digital Assets announced today, he commented, "In developing this new offering, we have drawn heavily on the collective experience of the wider business, ensuring that we exceed counterparty expectations from the outset. Whether that's through the ability to transact via industry standard trading platforms as well as an API feed, or the inclusion of real time monitoring and reporting of trading resources, successful deployment of this innovation is a significant achievement not just for Rostro but also for the market as a whole."
Rostro Group is a fintech group focused on brokerage activities. Founded in 2021 by Roger Hambury and led by Michael Ayres, the company operates multiple brokerage brands and invests in fintech businesses globally.
