August 08, 2023 - Japanese FX industry veteran Hiroaki Nagakura has been appointed Head of Prime Services - Japan at multi-asset Prime Broker 26 Degrees Global Markets.
Nagakura joins with over 30 years of experience, most recently as Managing Executive Officer at Rakuten Securities Inc., one of Japan’s largest online brokerages. During his 12-year tenure, he was responsible for the establishment of Rakuten’s FX business unit, and under his leadership and direction, saw FX revenue grow to over 100 million USD (14.6 billion JPY) in 2022. Nagakura was also Managing Director of Rakuten Securities Australia and Director of Rakuten Securities Hong Kong, and instrumental in the 2015 acquisitions of FXCM Japan and Hong Kong. (In June this year, Rakuten Securities Australia was acquired by ATFX.)
Prior to Rakuten, he was Director at Central Tanshi FX Co., Ltd. for a decade and spent time as an FX and CFD trader at various interbank FX Brokers.
