Robinhood used its HOOD Summit 2026 event, held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, to unveil its largest lineup of active trading products to date, including a new embedded AI agent experience, perpetual futures, earnings contracts and plans for weekend equities trading.
The company announced Robinhood Agents, a fully embedded AI experience built into the Robinhood app that can analyse markets, build strategies and trade on a customer's behalf around the clock. Alongside this, Robinhood introduced Agent Apps, which add institutional grade data and specialised tools from third party providers to give the agents an additional layer of intelligence.
Vlad Tenev, Chief Executive Officer, Robinhood
Vlad Tenev, Chief Executive Officer, Robinhood said:
"Ownership doesn't work without markets, and markets don't work without traders. We're making Robinhood the best place in the world for active traders by delivering tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms."
In May, Robinhood launched agentic trading, allowing customers to connect their own third party AI agents to the platform. Since then, more than 150,000 customers have opened agentic trading accounts, with agents now using Robinhood's tools almost 30 million times a day, according to the company.
Robinhood Agents builds on that by bringing the experience directly into the app, meaning customers do not need prior familiarity with AI to build an agent that can develop strategies, run research or trade automatically.
Abhishek Fatehpuria, Vice President of Product Management, Robinhood
Abhishek Fatehpuria, Vice President of Product Management, Robinhood said:
"With safety and security at its core, we're setting the standard for what agentic finance can be. Whether you're an expert or are just getting started with AI, you're at a disadvantage if you're not using Robinhood."
To set up an agent, customers give it a name, open a dedicated agentic account and choose a model from several AI labs, including OpenAI. Usage of OpenAI's GPT-Luna model will be free until the end of the year, Robinhood said.
The Robinhood Trading MCP, launched earlier this summer, remains available to customers who want to connect their own third party agents, while Robinhood Agents is built directly into the app and requires no separate linking or setup.
On safety controls, Robinhood said agents can only access funds held in the dedicated agentic trading account, and customers can choose to manually approve each trade, a setting shown during setup that defaults to on but can be adjusted at any time.
The company also said it will soon launch Loops, which allow customers to turn a strategy into a standing instruction for an agent to execute on repeat, around the clock, such as checking the market each morning or running a continuous overnight strategy while the customer sleeps. Loops can be turned off at any time, Robinhood said.
By default, Robinhood Agents have access to the market data sources available in the Robinhood Trading MCP, along with a customer's own portfolio data. Agent Apps add subscription access to premium data sources and tools from 11 companies, each offered with a one month free trial:
Robinhood Agents and Agent Apps are set to launch soon for eligible US customers.
Robinhood also confirmed plans, pending regulatory review, to expand its trading hours so customers can trade a selection of US equities 24/7, including weekends. The move extends the Robinhood 24 Hour Market, which launched in 2023 and already allows customers to trade hundreds of stocks and ETFs from 8pm ET on Sunday through 8pm ET on Friday.
Steve Quirk, Chief Brokerage Officer, Robinhood
"Breaking news doesn't wait for an opening bell. With the upcoming launch of weekend trading, we're making sure our customers won't have to either, no matter what day it is."
Weekend trading will begin with a curated list of stocks and ETFs across all account types and will be powered by Bruce ATS, an alternative trading system that Robinhood said offers institutional grade liquidity, resiliency and execution quality.
Jason Wallach, Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Markets
"We're about to change when the world can trade. Soon 24/7 trading won't be a dream, it will be the new global standard. Working alongside Robinhood, we will be giving traders the freedom to trade when they want, not when Wall Street decides."
Robinhood is also expanding the range of assets available on its platform with the launch of perpetual futures and earnings contracts.
Perpetual futures, offered by Robinhood Derivatives through Bitstamp, will allow eligible US customers to take long or short positions on BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK or HYPE, with no expiration dates. Customers will be able to use up to 10x leverage on BTC and ETH perpetuals, and 3x leverage on the remaining assets.
Through the end of the year, Robinhood will charge a fee of one basis point per trade (0.01%). The contracts will allow customers to set stop loss and take profit orders, track their liquidation price in real time, and receive alerts if a position is at risk.
Ahead of Q3 earnings season, Robinhood is also launching earnings contracts within its prediction markets hub. These are binary options contracts, made available through Cboe, that allow customers to trade on company specific metrics such as whether a company beats earnings expectations, hits a revenue target, or crosses a key financial milestone. Earnings contracts will require options approval and will begin rolling out to eligible customers in the coming weeks. Cboe will not charge fees on earnings contracts through the end of the year, subject to regulatory review, and Robinhood will not charge any contract fees in the same period.
Robinhood Social, which launched in beta earlier this year, is going live to all eligible US customers. The company is adding new post types for sharing crypto and stock charts, portfolio allocations and profit and loss, alongside a live earnings experience planned in time for Q3 earnings season that will let customers watch earnings calls and trade in real time.
Robinhood said verified market commentators from other websites, news organisations and company profiles will soon bring breaking market news directly into the app, and that Robinhood Social will also be available as a widget within Robinhood Legend.
Robinhood outlined a number of additional updates for active traders. From October, options trading hours will extend from 7:30am to 4:15pm, a 35% increase in trading hours across the platform's most popular symbols. One cancels the other (OCO) orders, which let customers set a take profit and a stop loss on the same position so that execution of one automatically cancels the other, will launch for equities in October, with options support to follow early next year.
From next month, eligible margin customers will be able to opt in to trade with up to 4x buying power during market hours, up from 2x currently, with built in safeguards including push notifications ahead of market close and a one time in app notification the first time customers sign up.
Ahead of the launch of Apple's iPhone Duo, Robinhood is rolling out new versions of its app for foldable iOS and Android phones, as well as iPad and Android tablets.
Robinhood Legend customers can now run third party agents natively within the platform through the Robinhood Trading MCP, and the company said it will later this year add the ability to build custom indicators to flag unusual volume, mark support levels ahead of a pullback, or scan the market for breakouts.
Robinhood also said it has rebuilt parts of the infrastructure powering the platform under a project named Helios, which it said delivers faster charts and clicks on Legend and predictive loading on mobile.
