London-headquartered spread betting and CFD broker Trade Nation has agreed to acquire the UK client book of Stratos Markets Limited, which operates the FXCM and Tradu brands in the UK, with the transfer expected to complete in November 2026.
Announced on 6 October, the transaction covers retail and professional trading accounts. It adds an established community of FX and CFD traders to Trade Nation’s home-market business, with both firms working on the client transition.
Jon Noble, Chief Executive Officer of Trade Nation, said: “This is a significant step for Trade Nation, and there is more to come.”
Brendan Callan, Chief Executive Officer of Stratos Group, said "Our priority throughout has been finding the right home for our UK clients. Trade Nation stood out for its platforms and its service culture, and we are confident our clients will be well looked after."
Trade Nation’s client information page sets out a transfer scheduled for the weekend of 20–22 November. Clients wishing to opt out must notify FXCM UK by 5 November.
FXCM UK accounts are scheduled to close shortly after 22:00 GMT on Friday 20 November, with new Trade Nation accounts and funds available when markets open at 22:05 GMT on Sunday 22 November. Some inactive accounts may move earlier.
Open positions will be closed by FXCM UK before balances transfer. The migration therefore involves transferring accounts and cash rather than carrying existing positions across to the new broker.
Clients using FXCM’s Trading Station II will move to TN Trader. MT4 CFD accounts will migrate to MT4 CFD accounts, while MT4 spread betting accounts will move to TN Trader because Trade Nation does not offer spread betting on MT4.
The receiving entity is Trade Nation Financial UK Ltd. Clients will move onto its terms and pricing, with changes to spreads, costs and charges.
For Trade Nation, the commercial opportunity is to retain active customers already familiar with leveraged products while moving them onto its own trading infrastructure. The platform and pricing changes make client communication and retention central to the transfer.
