Yesterday the market was barely moving — total crypto cap around $2.69T, Bitcoin near $77.4K, thin volume. But today could matter far more: the US Senate holds a cloture vote on the CLARITY Act (the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act), needing 60 votes just to proceed.
It's not a vote on passage. But if it fails, the bill is effectively dead for 2026 — and Galaxy Research has cut its odds of the bill becoming law this year to around 10%, down from 75% in May.
This is 2026 in miniature: prices flat, politics decisive. The market that once traded on hype now waits on process. Digital-asset market structure is being written in committee rooms, not candlesticks.
