Regulatory clarity finally arrived. Now the hard part starts: market structure. 🌍

      Global

For years the industry asked for rules. This year, the scaffolding started going up β€” but it's not finished.

πŸ“‹ MiCA's EU-wide grandfathering period ended on 1 July β€” crypto-asset firms operating in the EU now need full authorisation or must wind down. In the US, the GENIUS Act's one-year deadline for stablecoin rules passed on 18 July with every agency missing it β€” no final rules exist yet (the joint proposal only went out in June, with comments open through 21 August). The Act now takes effect on the earlier of 18 January 2027 or 120 days after final rules actually land. And in June, more than 140 firms β€” including Visa, Mastercard, Stripe and BlackRock β€” announced Open USD, a shared stablecoin consortium set to launch later this year. The total stablecoin market now sits above $290B.

That half-built state is the point. Clarity doesn't consolidate everything overnight β€” it bifurcates first. Compliant, institutional rails on one side; offshore, speed-optimised liquidity on the other. More regulated venues, more issuers, more bank market-makers means more fragmentation before any consolidation. Deeper books, tighter spreads β€” spread across more places you have to reach.

That's the counterintuitive part most "institutions are coming" takes miss: clarity makes execution harder, not easier. When liquidity fragments, smart order routing across venues becomes more valuable, not less.

It's the problem Quadra Trade was built for β€” multi-venue execution and routing for a market that's about to get more crowded, not less. The firms that win the institutional era won't be the ones with the most venues. They'll be the ones who can reach all of them at once.

πŸ‡§πŸ‡· We'll be at FEBRABAN Tech in SΓ£o Paulo (24–26 Aug, Stand A1) making exactly this case. Brazilian banks are moving early on this β€” the infrastructure conversation is already live here.

πŸ‘‰ Going to be there? Let's meet β€” reach out and we'll set something up.
