Bakkt, Inc. has announced a partnership with digital assets wealth platform Nexo, enabling the latter to leverage Bakkt's U.S. trading infrastructure as part of its return to the American market.
The arrangement falls under Bakkt's Markets initiative, which uses the company's U.S. money transmitter licence coverage and New York BitLicence to provide regulated trading infrastructure for financial institutions, fintech platforms, and global digital asset companies operating in the United States.
Nexo is a digital assets wealth platform that has operated across more than 150 jurisdictions since 2018, processing over $371 billion globally. The platform offers yield products, crypto-backed loans, trading tools, liquidity solutions, and what it describes as the first crypto debit and credit card. The company is designed to help clients grow, manage, and preserve crypto holdings.
Through the partnership, Nexo will use Bakkt's infrastructure to access compliant digital asset trading services for its clients in the U.S. market. Nexo had previously withdrawn from the United States before announcing its re-entry.
Bakkt was founded in 2018 and is a provider of solutions spanning Bitcoin, tokenisation, stablecoin payments, and AI-driven finance, with a focus on institutional participation in the digital asset economy.
No financial terms of the partnership were disclosed.
