Blue Ocean Technologies, LLC has appointed Chinmay Patel, Chief Technology Officer, Blue Ocean ATS, and Marcus Chan, Sales Representative, Blue Ocean Technologies for Hong Kong and China, as the capital markets fintech firm expands its technology leadership and regional presence in Asia-Pacific.
Mr Patel will be based in Toronto and will lead the organisation’s technology strategy, infrastructure development and blockchain roadmap while overseeing the engineering team.
Mr Chan will take on a newly created role based in Hong Kong, responsible for business development, regional growth strategy and customer relationship management across Hong Kong and mainland China.
Blue Ocean Technologies operates the Blue Ocean Alternative Trading System (BOATS), enabling trading in US National Market System stocks during overnight US hours. Its Blue Ocean Session allows market participants in global time zones to trade US equities between 8:00 pm and 4:00 am ET from Sunday to Thursday.
The firm said the appointments come as it expands its technology and commercial capabilities around after-hours trading and tokenisation strategies.
