September 28, 2023 - Devexperts-owned dxFeed, a provider of market data solutions and index management, has partnered with Blue Ocean Technologies, parent of alternative trading system Blue Ocean ATS, to create a 24/5 data feed for U.S. equities. This collaboration provides dxFeed clients with licensed and license-free access to after-hours market data, enabling round-the-clock trading capabilities for U.S. stocks.
Blue Ocean ATS allows equities trading between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. EST, extending trading hours for U.S. stocks to 24/5. Blue Ocean's data gives investors full transparency into price movements outside regular U.S. trading hours. This empowers offshore investors in Asia-Pacific and other regions to more effectively manage U.S. stock holdings by trading during their daytime hours. It also enables more comprehensive risk management.
For dxFeed, this partnership enables the creation of the first 24/5 price feed for U.S. equities to offer clients. The availability of 24/5 data is expected to benefit online brokerages, money managers, and individual users by providing flexible access to quotes and last sale data anytime.
The extended trading hours are expected to impact the evolving Web3 ecosystem, which operates 24/7 but has faced limitations in accessing real-time pricing tied to traditional market hours. The new data feed addresses this gap, delivering vital pricing data to DeFi platforms continuously.
Blue Ocean has already seen substantial Asian market growth from its extended hours overlapping daytime business hours there. It is the first venue to open for U.S. equities after weekends, enabling traders to react quickly to news developments.
Dmitrii Parilov, dxFeed Managing Director, commented, "We are thrilled to partner with Blue Ocean on this innovative 24/5 data feed for U.S. stocks. This enhances our client service and contributes to the broader financial ecosystem by providing continuous access to vital market data."
John Willock, Blue Ocean Technologies Head of Strategy, said, "Blue Ocean is proud to be at the forefront of extending trading hours and increasing transparency. We believe this dxFeed partnership will have far-reaching impact on how market participants access and use U.S. equities data."
