Ondo Perps Launches Permissionless Platform For Tokenised Equity And Commodity Futures
Ondo Perps has launched what it describes as the first perpetual futures platform for equities and commodities that accepts both tokenised equity holdings and stablecoins as collateral for derivatives positions.
The platform, unveiled on 7 July 2026, combines 24/7 trading with leverage of up to 20x, alongside liquidity levels the firm says are comparable to conventional futures and options markets, opening what it calls a new layer of capital-efficient trading in global markets.
Ondo Perps enables trading of perpetual futures on a range of leading US equities, ETFs, and commodities, including SPCX, MU, AAPL, NVDA, TSLA, QQQ, gold (XAG), and silver (XAU), for global investors based outside the US.
The platform is built on technology developed by Ondo Finance, which is the largest tokeniser of securities by total value. This technology allows Ondo Perps to source liquidity from traditional financial markets, in a similar manner to how Ondo Finance previously brought traditional exchange liquidity to Ondo's tokenised stocks and ETFs.
According to the release, Ondo Perps is the first crypto perpetuals platform to offer tokenised securities as collateral, allowing users to post tokenised stock and ETF holdings directly as collateral for perpetual futures positions, removing the need to maintain separate capital reserves across multiple platforms.
The platform also claims market depth comparable to traditional derivatives venues, resulting in tight spreads and minimal slippage even at size, along with what it describes as the fastest execution speed of any permissionless perps platform, with order routing, margin updates, and liquidations processed in real time while maintaining decentralisation guarantees.
Ian De Bode, President, Ondo Finance
Ian De Bode, President, Ondo Finance said:
"Ondo Perps marks the first time a permissionless equity perps platform has been built with the infrastructure required to unlock liquidity, speed, and capital efficiency comparable to traditional derivatives markets. Hundreds of millions of investors outside the United States can now access 24/7 exposure to stocks, ETFs, and commodities with up to 20x leverage, and deploy tokenized stock holdings as productive capital. We are rapidly approaching an investing experience that is, quite frankly, far better than what a traditional brokerage account can offer."
Ondo Global Markets, which provides the underlying tokenised equity infrastructure for the platform, has grown approximately 5% per week since its launch in September 2025, reaching over $1 billion in total value locked. Ondo Perps represents the next layer of that ecosystem, allowing tokenised assets to function not only as holdings but as productive collateral within a unified trading platform.
The platform has been designed to serve investors outside the United States who seek leveraged exposure to US capital markets but lack access to traditional brokerage infrastructure.
The Ondo Perps platform is made available by Ondo Global Panama Inc. (dba Ondo Perps) using technology developed by Ondo Finance Inc. It is not available in the US, Panama, and other prohibited jurisdictions.
