Phemex, a crypto exchange founded in 2019, has announced what it is calling an "AI-Native Revolution," a company-wide restructuring that places artificial intelligence at the centre of its operating model, product development, and strategic direction.
Rather than positioning AI as a standalone feature, the exchange is redesigning its internal workflows, talent strategy, and platform architecture around intelligent systems. The move reflects growing pressure within the digital asset sector, where AI-driven tools are increasingly reshaping how exchanges compete, not only on pricing and listings, but on the depth of technology integration underpinning their platforms.
Internally, Phemex says teams are being restructured to work alongside AI-driven processes, shifting focus away from repetitive execution tasks toward higher-order problem-solving. The company is also expanding its AI capabilities through both talent development and strategic recruitment.
On the product side, Phemex says future platform initiatives will be built on this AI-native foundation, though specific product launches have not been detailed in the announcement.
Federico Variola, CEO, Phemex
Federico Variola, CEO, Phemex said:
"The AI revolution is not a trend, it is a structural turning point for our industry. For users, this means more adaptive tools, more efficient execution, and a trading environment that evolves with market complexity. For Phemex, it means rethinking about how we operate at every level, replacing static processes with intelligent systems that enhance speed, precision, and scalability. And for the industry, it signals a shift from feature-driven competition to infrastructure-driven evolution. Exchanges will no longer compete solely on listings or fees, but on how intelligently they integrate technology into their core architecture."
Phemex is a user-first crypto exchange trusted by over 10 million traders worldwide. The platform offers spot and derivatives trading, copy trading, and wealth management products.
