FINRA member online broker TradingBlock has appointed technology executive Dave Gustafson as Director of Networking. He brings more than 25 years of experience in designing and leading critical infrastructure for trading firms, data centres and financial institutions.
In his new role, Gustafson will be responsible for designing, building and overseeing TradingBlock’s network infrastructure. The company said this role is central to ensuring trade execution speed, reliability and security.

Gustafson has previously held senior technology positions at Jump Trading, Chopper Trading, TransMarket Group and Calyon Financial. He has built and deployed global networks, pioneered low-latency trading connectivity and developed enterprise IT and security operations across North America, Europe and Asia.
At Crusoe Energy, he worked on hybrid WAN networks and GPU cloud infrastructure, before founding DCG Technology Consulting, which advised firms on low-latency exchange infrastructure and wireless deployments.

Gustafson holds an MBA with honours in Entrepreneurship and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S. in Organisational Behaviour and Computer Science from Northwestern University.
TradingBlock, launched in 2003 and headquartered in Chicago, is a FINRA-member broker-dealer and trading technology platform provider. The company serves individual traders, small institutions, hedge funds, asset managers and independent RIA firms, with a focus on customisable trading tools and brokerage solutions.
