Global financial innovator WisdomTree, Inc. (NYSE: WT) has appointed Alexis Marinof as CEO, Europe, in a move designed to reinforce the company's commitment to the European market.
Marinof, who has led WisdomTree's European business since 2019, will retain his existing responsibilities while taking on the CEO title. The company says the appointment will enhance its client and regulatory engagement, market credibility and execution capabilities across the region. He will continue to report to WisdomTree's global President and COO, Jarrett Lilien.
"Alexis has played a critical role in driving WisdomTree's success in Europe. His leadership has positioned us as a key player in the region, and his elevation to CEO will further strengthen our ability to deliver innovative solutions to our clients," said Lilien. "We are confident that Alexis will continue to build on this momentum as we further deepen our European presence."
Marinof joined WisdomTree Europe in July 2017 as Head of European Distribution before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in April 2018. In this role, he oversaw the post-acquisition integration of ETF Securities' European business and expanded WisdomTree's multi-product European ETP business.
"I'm honoured to take on the role of CEO, Europe at WisdomTree. This appointment reflects our deep commitment to the region and strength of our ongoing strategy. I look forward to leading our team through the next phase of growth, and strengthening our relationship with clients, partners and regulators across Europe," said Marinof.
Prior to joining WisdomTree, Marinof held various senior positions at State Street Global Advisors, including EMEA Head of SPDR ETFs and COO for Distribution, EMEA, where he managed teams across the Middle East, Africa and Nordic regions.
The appointment comes as WisdomTree recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary in Europe, having established its presence in the region in October 2014. The firm currently manages approximately $114.6 billion in assets globally and offers a diverse range of exchange-traded products alongside digital asset-related solutions.
WisdomTree describes itself as a financial innovator offering "a diverse suite of exchange-traded products, models and solutions, as well as digital asset-related products" including tokenised real-world assets, stablecoins, and its blockchain-native digital wallet, WisdomTree Prime.
