Exchanges feeling the heat from onshore perpetuals now (Kalshi launched perpetuals in the US for the first time last week)
CME CEO Terry Duffy told CNBC that perpetual futures "incite bad behaviour" and endanger retail investors. He is not wrong. He is also the CEO of an exchange whose core product franchise is directly threatened by them. Both things are true. Worth watching how quickly CME files its own application.
