Clear Street is a New York-based capital markets firm that has rebuilt brokerage infrastructure from scratch. Founded in 2018, it runs clearing, custody, settlement, execution and financing on a single cloud-native platform with one real-time ledger. Hedge funds, asset managers, family offices, ETF issuers, market makers, broker-dealers and individual traders all use the same technology.
One platform for the whole trade lifecycle
Rather than stitching together legacy systems, Clear Street built its own self-clearing technology, so every trade is executed, cleared, settled and reported on one stack. Starting with US equities, the firm has added options, fixed income, futures and, for institutions, digital assets. Its infrastructure now supports more than 900 institutional clients.
Prime brokerage and clearing
As a self-clearing broker-dealer and futures commission merchant, Clear Street lets funds clear and custody US equities, options and fixed income, clear futures, and access securities lending, margin financing, OCC cross-margining and capital introduction. Registered market makers can use its dedicated professional clearing service.
Execution around the clock
Clear Street’s algorithmic execution business, expanded through its acquisition of Fox River from Instinet, provides algorithms and smart order routing for institutional order flow. A 24-hour router gives clients overnight access to US equities from 8pm to 4am ET. Electronic execution now reaches 27 markets in Europe and Asia-Pacific through a single connection. Managers who prefer not to run their own desk can use its outsourced trading service.
Built for active traders
In 2026 Clear Street opened its platform to sophisticated individual traders in the US, with an app for iOS, Android and web. Traders get direct order routing, real-time Level 2 data and execution quality reporting. Omni AI, the firm’s in-house research engine, helps them build a trade thesis, size positions and check exposure before they trade. Systematic traders can connect through a REST API and SDKs that support TWAP, VWAP and DMA orders, and Clear Street is also available as a broker on TradingView. Futures, fixed income, prediction markets and digital assets are on the roadmap.
Global reach, regulated in the US and UK
Clear Street LLC is an SEC-registered broker-dealer, a member of FINRA and SIPC, and a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member. Clear Street UK Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and is a Category 1 member of the London Metal Exchange. Its 2026 acquisition of Boom Securities took the firm into Asia-Pacific.
