Global markets rebound as tech stocks lead the gainsrd move, with successive lower highs and lower lows.

US stock futures edged higher this morning after Wall Street rebounded on Monday, with the S&P 500 rising 0.4% and the Nasdaq Composite gaining over 1%, led by technology stocks such as Nvidia, Tesla, and Alphabet.

However, Asian markets declined broadly, with South Korea’s Kospi falling 2.3% and Japan’s Nikkei losing 0.8%. Asian semiconductor stocks declined earlier today despite a rebound in US technology shares, as concerns over the sustainability of AI spending continued to weigh on investor sentiment. South Korea’s SK Hynix fell 4% and Samsung Electronics lost 1%.

AI financing concerns remain a key market risk, following last week’s technology selloff driven by fears that companies are taking on excessive debt to fund AI infrastructure.

Oil prices edged higher as escalating tensions in the Middle East raised concerns about potential disruptions to Middle Eastern energy supplies. Brent crude rose 0.2% to $109.81 per barrel, while WTI gained 0.2% to $103.98.

Gold fell for a third consecutive session on Tuesday, struggling to break above the $4,200 level as a stronger US dollar, rising Treasury yields, and elevated oil prices weighed on the precious metal. Market expectations for a December Fed rate hike remain high at 94%, keeping gold under pressure as investors reassess the outlook for monetary policy.
