Option Samurai, a fintech platform based in Tel Aviv and focused on options traders, has introduced its latest feature: the Custom Options Screener. This tool allows investors to construct and scan for any options strategy, whether standard or unconventional, across the entire market.
The Custom Options Screener enables users to design every leg of their strategy, including complex scenarios such as covered calls using 90 shares, financing a call option with put spreads, or building multi-leg combinations with overlapping strikes. This level of flexibility and control was previously the domain of professional traders.
With the new screener, traders can build any strategy they imagine, regardless of complexity, and scan the entire options market for matching trade setups. The platform provides the ability to compare and analyse all potential trades using key metrics such as return, delta, breakeven, and probability of profit.
Leav Graves, CEO of Option Samurai
“No other platform gives traders this level of control,” said Leav Graves, CEO of Option Samurai. “We built the Custom Options Screener so you're never boxed into templates or one-size-fits-all strategies. If you can imagine the trade, you can build it, scan the market for it, and compare live opportunities in seconds. This is how modern options trading should work.”
The screener is built for advanced users seeking more control than prebuilt scanners typically allow. Traders can compose any structure with up to five legs, including stock legs, and adjust the buy or sell direction, quantity, and option type for each leg. According to the company, the tool is intended to give serious traders an edge by enabling them to find trades that are otherwise difficult to identify.
Key features include support for multi-leg strategies with up to four option legs and one stock leg, access to hundreds of data points for options and stocks—including Greeks, implied volatility rank, open interest, fundamental ratios, technical indicators, and unusual activity—and a scenario engine to test strategy performance under different market conditions such as price moves, volatility shifts, and time decay.
Additional features include analyst recommendations, earnings dates, and fundamental metrics to add context to every trade. The screener also offers dynamic filters per leg, covering delta, premium, days to expiry, breakeven, and more. Smart sorting and visual tools are provided to quickly compare return on investment, edge, probability of profit, and bid-ask spread.
The Custom Options Screener integrates with other platform tools, allowing users to save and load custom scans, set alerts when new trades appear, send trades to the trade page or log for tracking, and export data for further analysis.
Examples of strategies that can be constructed using the tool include combining a bull put spread with a long call for a low-cost upside bet, customising covered calls with non-standard share quantities, scanning for reverse iron condors on high implied volatility earnings plays, layering in a stock leg for hedging or increased conviction, building asymmetric hedges, running full-market scans for any of these strategies, and constructing arbitrage opportunities.
Option Samurai is a fintech startup aiming to make the options market more accessible to individual investors. Its platform provides customisable data tools for self-directed options traders, helping users find, track, and optimise trading opportunities.
