Spotware Systems, the company behind cTrader (@cTrader), has launched cAntifraud, an AI-powered fraud detection solution for FX/CFD brokers and prop firms. Spotware says the system keeps fraud rates below 0.08% of turnover.
cAntifraud combines early behavioural detection, cross-firm analysis and financial risk assessment. It is designed to help firms identify suspicious trading activity before it results in financial losses, payment disputes or reputational damage.
“Trading abuse doesn’t stop at the boundaries of a single firm, but that’s often where a risk team’s visibility ends. It’s difficult to recognise suspicious patterns when you’re only seeing part of the picture. With cAntifraud, we want to change this. Our goal is to help brokers and prop firms identify potential abuse earlier, uncover connections across companies and understand their financial exposure before financial damage grows. Just as importantly, we want to give trading departments the information they need to assess risk more accurately and support fair and responsible trading practices.” - Pavel Demin, General Manager of cAntifraud, Spotware Systems
Spotware notes that potential violations often only come to light at the payout review stage, when a client is already waiting for funds. Holding a payment at that point can lead to disputes, negative client feedback and pressure on risk and support teams, and reviewing each case by hand becomes harder to sustain as trading volumes and payout requests grow.
More elaborate schemes add to the difficulty. Multiple accounts, coordinated trading, third-party account management and activity spread across several companies are hard to spot when a risk team only sees part of the picture. Establishing who is making the trading decisions is also difficult when accounts are run through bots, signals or other people.
cAntifraud starts assessing risk at onboarding, including during initial KYC checks, and continues to monitor trading activity from then on. The AI analyses trading patterns, execution timing, links between accounts and signs of coordinated activity, helping risk teams distinguish potentially abusive behaviour from legitimate trading and giving them more context on each case.
A central feature of cAntifraud is its ability to detect suspicious links that extend beyond a single broker or prop firm. Participating firms share intelligence through a common network, so each benefits from risk signals identified at the others. When the system detects a potential threat, it notifies other participants immediately, helping them recognise potentially related accounts, coordinated trading schemes and hedging across firms.
Spotware says cAntifraud is fully GDPR-compliant. Data exchanged across the network is encrypted and anonymised, each firm keeps control of its own data, and no participant can access another’s client information. According to the company, the network’s combined signals reveal patterns that a single firm would not detect from its own data, and detection improves as more brokers and prop firms join.
cAntifraud also helps firms estimate what trading abuse could cost them. Its risk assessment tools cover estimated payout exposure and trader risk evaluation, so firms can decide which investigations to prioritise. Spotware says flagging suspicious activity within 15 minutes allows a firm to react in time to fully protect its funds.
For FX/CFD brokers, cAntifraud targets IB commission abuse, latency arbitrage, coordinated trading, multi-accounting, copy trading abuse, cross-broker hedging and exploitation of bonus or zero-balance protection mechanisms.
For prop firms, it covers challenge farming, external hedging, multi-accounting, latency arbitrage and breaches of trading rules. Automated rule monitoring flags potential violations during trading, reducing reliance on manual checks ahead of payouts and easing the workload on risk and support staff as the number of funded accounts and completed challenges grows.
cAntifraud does not automatically block traders or decide whether a payout should be approved. Instead, it supplies the evidence firms need to take appropriate action. Spotware says the focus is on signs of abuse, and profitable trading by legitimate traders is not treated as grounds for action.
cAntifraud supports cTrader, MT5 and other major trading platforms, as well as liquidity bridges and CRMs, through a universal API. It is designed to complement existing risk management systems, so firms can strengthen fraud detection without replacing their current infrastructure. It can run independently or alongside cBridge, Spotware’s fixed-price liquidity bridge.
Brokers and prop firms can request a demo from Spotware to see how cAntifraud would work with their existing trading and risk systems.
