WisdomTree, Inc. has introduced WisdomTree Connect™, a new platform designed to provide broader access to tokenised real world assets (RWA). This platform marks WisdomTree's first foray into offering its digital funds directly to clients with their own wallet infrastructure, including businesses and other institutional users.
WisdomTree Connect utilizes the same proprietary tokenization platform and technology infrastructure as WisdomTree Prime®, the company's direct-to-retail app. Together, these platforms aim to offer comprehensive digital asset solutions across the entire customer spectrum.
Will Peck, Head of Digital Assets at WisdomTree, stated, "We're thrilled to announce the launch of WisdomTree Connect. With increasing interest in tokenised real world assets, WisdomTree Connect opens up additional business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) opportunities for WisdomTree to provide access to digital funds to on-chain firms without leaving the ecosystem."
The platform addresses a key challenge for firms seeking integration between traditional and decentralised finance. For instance, it allows crypto-native institutions to access yield-generating products, such as the WisdomTree Government Money Market Digital Fund (WTGXX), on-chain with blockchain-integrated record keeping.
Initially available via web portal and API, WisdomTree Connect will allow institutional users to purchase or redeem via US dollars, with transactions also facilitated through USDC, a stablecoin redeemable 1:1 for US dollars. The platform includes features that provide fiat-to-crypto on and off ramps, further bridging the gap between traditional and decentralised finance.
Tokens will be initially minted on Ethereum, with plans to add more blockchains over time. Smart contracts associated with WisdomTree's tokenised real world assets were created using Token Factory, part of DTCC Digital Assets' suite of digital infrastructure capabilities.
The launch of WisdomTree Connect comes as WisdomTree reports approximately $110.6 billion in assets under management globally. The company views this new platform as an expansion of its digital assets opportunity, enabling access to tokenized real world assets for a broader range of users.
