Uniswap was founded by Hayden Adams, a graduate of Stony Brook University and a former mechanical engineer at Siemens. Inspired by a blog and Reddit post by Vitalik Buterin, Adams received a grant from the Ethereum Foundation and launched the protocol in November 2018.
