Rob Wing has joined Trading Technologies (TT) as Head of FX Business Development, becoming the latest senior hire supporting TT's expansion in institutional foreign exchange.
Wing joins TT from 4OTC, where he was Head of Digital Assets and FX, working with institutional trading firms on low-latency connectivity across FX and digital asset markets.
Announcing the move, Wing said:
“I’m pleased to announce that I have joined Trading Technologies as Head of FX Business Development. As TT continues its expansion into multi-asset trading, I'm looking forward to bringing FX to our established institutional client base.”
The appointment comes as TT continues to build out its FX proposition alongside its established derivatives trading business.
In May, TT announced a significant expansion of TT FX, extending its OTC coverage beyond spot FX to include forwards, NDFs and swaps, while adding liquidity from bank and non-bank liquidity providers. The expansion is designed to allow institutional clients to trade FX alongside futures and precious metals through the TT environment.
Wing highlighted the opportunity to bring some of TT’s established trading technology into FX.
“The opportunity to apply TT's flagship workflow tools including the cross-currency spreader and Algo Design Lab (ADL) connected directly to the FX market is a big step forward. Exciting times ahead!”
Wing brings more than 20 years of experience across FX, digital assets and trading technology. Before joining 4OTC in 2023, he led global sales at Celer Technologies and previously served as Managing Director and Head of Sales at TradAir. Earlier in his career, he held a senior technical sales role at Currenex.
His arrival comes during a particularly active period for TT.
In September, the company integrated FairXchange Horizon into its institutional FX offering, providing clients with independent execution and liquidity analytics across spot, forwards, NDFs and swaps.
And just one day before Wing announced his appointment, TT revealed its acquisition of TRAFiX, extending the platform further into global equities and equity options. The deal adds equities OEMS and FIX connectivity capabilities as TT pursues its strategy of bringing multiple asset classes and trading workflows onto a single platform.
For Wing, that provides a sizeable existing institutional audience into which to take the expanding FX proposition. TT has made that crossover central to its FX strategy, targeting hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, banks and other institutions trading multiple asset classes.
Wing will work within TT's FX business, which is led by Tomo Tokuyama, EVP and Managing Director, FX.
