Global forex and CFD broker ACY Securities has expanded its copy trading service to include the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform, building on momentum that saw investors commit $53.2m to the service in its first year of operation.
The Sydney-based broker will make MT5 available to clients and signal providers from 3 January 2025, complementing its existing MetaTrader 4 offering on the Tradingcup copy trading platform launched in early 2024.
Data shared by ACY Securities shows the platform has generated 3,321 trading signals since launch, with signal providers earning $176,100 in performance fees and $13,200 in subscription revenues.
Ashley Jessen, Chief Operating Officer at ACY Securities, said: "The launch of MT5 compatibility underscores our dedication to providing the best tools for traders worldwide. We are committed to empowering our clients with better trading opportunities across a diverse range of tradable instruments. With the addition of MT5, signal providers and clients alike can unlock greater flexibility and potential in their trading journeys."
The MT5 integration appears strategically timed, with Jessen noting that approximately 70% of ACY's top-performing clients use automated trading strategies known as Expert Advisors (EAs). "The MT5 platform introduces several advantages to ACY's copy trading solution," he said. "With around 70% of our top-performing clients using Expert Advisors (EAs), the platform's capabilities align perfectly with the needs of modern traders. Additionally, traders now have access to more automated trading strategies than ever before, enabling savvy clients to build a business around their algorithmic trading. This opens the door to new income streams for traders utilising both the subscription and performance fee options available at Tradingcup."
While existing MT4 users will maintain access to their current functionality, new signal trading activities will be compatible with MT5 accounts from 2 January 2025. The dual-platform approach allows traders to select their preferred trading environment.
