Sydney-based multi-asset broker ACY Securities has introduced PAXGUSD, a new CFD instrument that allows clients to trade tokenised gold against the US Dollar 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The instrument is available across MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and the ACY Trading Platform.
Unlike standard Spot Gold (XAUUSD), which closes over the weekend, the PAXGUSD CFD gives traders continuous exposure to gold price movements outside traditional market hours. The addition offers a route to hedge existing positions or respond to global economic developments as they unfold on Saturdays and Sundays.
PAXGUSD tracks PAX Gold (PAXG), a digital asset backed by physical gold, where each token represents one fine troy ounce held in London vault storage.
Gold remains a core market during periods of macro volatility. Geopolitical events, central bank announcements, and weekend news cycles, however, frequently land when traditional spot gold markets are closed. With PAXGUSD, ACY Securities allows traders to manage exposure without waiting for the Monday morning open.
"Markets do not pause on Friday afternoon. Significant geopolitical and economic shifts can happen over the weekend, leaving traders unable to adjust their positions until traditional exchanges open. Adding weekend trading through PAXGUSD gives our clients greater flexibility to manage market exposure and respond to changing conditions in real time. It is a practical addition that reflects how traders operate today." - Ashley Jessen, Chief Operating Officer, ACY Securities

Gold has seen substantial price swings throughout 2026, driven by shifting interest rate expectations, inflation data, and international political developments. In January 2026, gold gained up to 28 per cent before retracing the full move by early February. The market then experienced a 22 per cent rise over 27 trading days, followed by a 23 per cent retracement over the following 21 days.
These rapid movements underline the speed at which conditions can change. For traders holding spot positions, weekend pricing via PAXGUSD offers an additional tool to track sentiment and execute risk management strategies before Monday trading begins.
The launch of PAXGUSD expands ACY Securities' existing range of precious metals and CFD products. The broker previously introduced regional gold contracts denominated in grams and taels to support local trading conventions across Asia and the Middle East.
Clients can now trade a broad range of gold contracts, including:
• XAUUSD
• XAUAUD
• XAUEUR
• XAUGBP
• XAUSGD
• XAUTHB
• XAUTRY
• GAUCNH
• GAUUSD
• LAUHKD
• PAXGUSD
