Flipster, a global cryptocurrency trading platform, has been granted a full operational Exchange licence (Licence No. VL/26/07/002) by Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) under the entity Flipster FZE.
The licence permits Flipster to launch regulated virtual asset services in the United Arab Emirates, marking a shift from the in-principle approval it previously held to full operational capability under VARA's regulatory framework.
Under the new licence, Flipster FZE is authorised to onboard customers in the UAE, with the firm stating plans to gradually widen access to a broader global user base over time.
The platform's offering includes access to real world asset perpetuals in supported jurisdictions, providing users with trading exposure to both digital and traditional asset classes. However, the initial rollout under the VARA licence will be focused on spot trading, which will form the foundation of Flipster's regulated product suite in the region.
VARA's regulatory regime covers standards for custody, governance and compliance, and is regarded as one of the more comprehensive frameworks globally for digital asset businesses.
Flipster first entered the Middle East market in May 2025, when it appointed Benjamin Grolimund as General Manager of Flipster FZE. The granting of the full operational licence represents the next stage of that expansion, moving the business from market entry into the delivery of regulated services.
