Retail futures trading leader NinjaTrader Group has appointed Mark Omens as Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy, bringing a 25-year veteran of derivatives marketplace CME Group into a newly created role focused on exchange partnerships and enterprise growth.
Omens will report directly to NinjaTrader Group chief executive Martin Franchi and will be tasked with shaping the firm's enterprise commercial growth and partnership strategies as it works to strengthen its position across the futures ecosystem.
In the new position, Omens will define and lead the enterprise strategic growth roadmap across the company and take ownership of NinjaTrader's exchange relationships globally. He will also serve as the firm's principal representative to industry trade associations, coordinating its presence at major industry events while pursuing new ecosystem partnerships.
Omens spent 25 years at CME Group, most recently as Head of Retail Business and Americas Sales teams, where he was responsible for creating the exchange's global retail strategy. During his tenure he helped build relationships with distribution partners across the ecosystem.
"As the futures industry rapidly evolves and access to trading becomes more available to retail traders globally, NinjaTrader is positioned to lead this evolution and Mark is a key part of this next chapter. He brings unparalleled expertise, strategic vision and a keen understanding of what makes futures traders tick. There is no question, Mark brings valuable leadership and experience to help us expand our footprint and build new industry relationships, all critical to NinjaTrader's future growth strategy." - Martin Franchi, Chief Executive Officer, NinjaTrader Group
"The derivatives industry is at an important inflection point, and NinjaTrader is leading this transformation. As one of the fastest-growing futures firms globally, NinjaTrader is uniquely positioned and quickly building momentum to further support the retail trading community. I'm excited to join the company and help build its next phase of growth." - Mark Omens, Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy, NinjaTrader Group
The appointment comes as NinjaTrader continues to scale its brokerage, technology, and NinjaTrader Connect and Prop offerings, and as retail interest in futures trading accelerates globally. The firm said the hire reflects its ongoing investment in senior leadership to support its ambition of remaining an industry-leading futures trading platform and technology company.
NinjaTrader Group has operated since 2003 and says it now serves a community of almost three million traders through a cloud-based platform available on desktop, web and mobile. Its NinjaTrader Connect arm delivers a suite of B2B solutions and financial infrastructure aimed at technology providers, while NT Technologies supports individual prop traders and prop trading firms.
