Scope Prime, the institutional liquidity arm of Rostro Financial Group, has appointed Kearabilwe (Kea) Nonyana as Head of its Africa division, as the firm continues its geographical expansion.

The move follows similar regional leadership appointments, including Andrew Taylor in Australia and Miranti Rostian in South East Asia, and comes at a time when African financial markets are seeing increased sophistication in trading products and services.

"As a business we are going through a steady phase of global expansion, delivering our multi-asset liquidity and prime services to a greater number of counterparties. A key component of this is enhancing our global footprint. We already have strong relationships across much of Africa, so Kea's appointment complements our vision for growth in the region perfectly," said Lochlan White, Chief Commercial Officer of Scope Prime.

Nonyana brings a decade of experience from Johannesburg's financial sector, having worked in research, analysis and derivative sales roles across various banks and brokerages. He will remain based in Johannesburg, overseeing the firm's operations across the African continent.

The appointment aligns with Rostro's existing African presence through its retail-focused brand, Scope Markets, which currently operates in Kenya and South Africa.

Daniel Lawrance, CEO of Scope Prime, said: "We have seen significant growth of our institutional business in 2024, with counterparties eager to tap into our extensive lines of liquidity as well as benefit from decades of market knowledge and our cutting-edge technology. We are very excited to promote these benefits to an even wider audience, and Kea will be a pivotal part of our plan for the New Year."

Speaking about his new role, Kea Nonyana, Scope Prime's new Head of Africa said: "Africa is experiencing remarkable financial product innovation right now and Scope Prime is superbly positioned to service this growing demand. I'm certainly delighted to have joined the Scope Prime team and look forward to helping build the company's presence both in South Africa and further afield."

Scope Prime operates under RS Global Ltd, which holds a Securities Industry Act 2021 licence from the Financial Services Commission of Belize.
