Spotex, the institutional trading venue for FX, precious metals and digital assets, has appointed James Roddy as Institutional Sales, FX & Digital Assets, EMEA. Announced on 3 November 2026, the role is based in London and is aimed at expanding the institutional client base of the US-headquartered firm across EMEA.
Roddy has more than 20 years of financial markets experience across multiple asset classes, and a network of brokers, hedge funds, asset managers, banks and high-net-worth individuals across EMEA. He began his career at TP ICAP, followed by seven years at BGC Partners (Cantor Fitzgerald) as an interdealer swaps broker. He then moved into FX and commodities sales trading at ODL Securities, which was acquired by FXCM, and has since held senior institutional sales, business development and relationship management roles at firms including Jacobi Asset Management, BidX Markets and, most recently, Advanced Markets.
In his new role, Roddy will focus on growing Spotex’s institutional business across EMEA, strengthening relationships with existing clients and attracting new ones. He will also work on driving adoption of the firm’s trading technology and ECN, which enable clients to execute trades and manage risk around the clock, under all market conditions.
