London-based FCA-regulated agency broker Alp Financial (AlpFin) @AlpFinancialLtd has appointed Tal Dar as Managing Director in the UK, LiquidityFinder can reveal. Dar joins from multi-asset broker Vantage UK, where he led institutional sales for the firm's Vantage Connect business.
In his new role, Dar will work alongside AlpFin Founder and Chief Executive Chris Ling to further develop the firm’s institutional and prime services offering, drive growth, and support AlpFin’s ambition to establish itself as a leading Prime of Prime provider.
"I'm delighted to be joining AlpFin and working alongside Chris and the team to further develop the institutional and prime services offering, build out a high-performing team, strengthen strategic partnerships, and support the firm's continued expansion across global markets," - Tal Dar, AlpFin.
Tal brings nearly a decade and a half of FX and brokerage experience to the role. At Vantage UK he was responsible for the growth and business development of Vantage Connect, the broker's institutional arm. Before that he was Head of eFX and Derivatives at PhillipCapital, with earlier leadership roles including Head of Product at Tera Financial, Head of Sales at FIXI plc and Head of Sales (UK) at Blackwell Global. That background spans sales, product and operations across a number of FCA-regulated brokers.
AlpFin is a privately held, founder-led business headed by Founder and CEO Chris Ling. Alp Financial Limited is registered in England and Wales under registration no. 10518614 and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 804843, operating out of One Canada Square in Canary Wharf.
AlpFin's core institutional offering covers FX Spot, precious metals and NDFs, and its agency business is underpinned by two tier-1 prime brokers, giving clients access to deep liquidity and credit across FX and precious metals. The firm has placed particular emphasis on emerging markets, rolling out NDF coverage across Asian, LatAm and African currencies.
On the technology side, AlpFin has integrated Lucera's LumeFX suite across the LD4 and NY4 data centres to support low-latency connectivity for agency broking clients. With a growing emphasis on margin FX alongside its established agency and prime offering, Dar's arrival adds further senior weight to the business as it positions itself across the institutional and retail divide.
