Foreign exchange industry veteran Darryl Hooker has been appointed as Head of Business Development and Partnerships at Digitec, the Hamburg-based financial technology provider specialising in FX Swaps and NDF pricing technology.
The appointment, announced on 1st April 2025, brings Hooker's four decades of experience in the foreign exchange market to the German firm, which currently provides technology solutions to more than half of the top 50 FX trading banks globally.
Hooker joins Digitec after serving as Director of NDF Sales at Fenics FX and previously as Head of NDF Strategy at 360T. His extensive career includes over 18 years at EBS/NEX, where he ultimately held the position of Global Head of Spot FX and Precious Metals, and Head of FX EMEA for NEX Markets.
During his tenure at EBS/NEX, Hooker was instrumental in the company's growth strategy, identifying opportunities as Spot FX markets became increasingly electronic, and leading the launch of the EBS CNH platform in China.
His industry credentials include membership of the first Global Foreign Exchange Committee (GFXC), as well as several regional committees including the Australian Foreign Exchange Committee (AFXC), the Canadian Foreign Exchange Committee (CFEC) and the ECB's Foreign Exchange Contact Group (FXCG). He also chaired the International Ruble Settlement Forum.
