Mauritius-regulated multi-asset CFD and forex broker Spec Markets has integrated liquidity and technology provider iSAM Securities' Radar risk analytics platform and Apex bridge into its trading operations.
Spec Markets is regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius. The wider Spec group also holds an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and a financial services licence in South Africa.
The integration is part of Spec Markets' growth strategy, putting infrastructure in place to support rising client volumes, business expansion and more efficient operations as the broker scales.
Radar provides Spec Markets' dealing and risk teams with visibility into client exposure, trading behaviour and profitability. Apex provides the execution and liquidity infrastructure used to manage pricing, routing and hedging. The two platforms are intended to allow Spec Markets to grow while retaining control over risk and execution quality.
A key part of the integration is Network Alerts, a Radar feature that identifies linked accounts and behavioural patterns across iSAM Securities' network of brokers. It is designed to detect activity that a single broker would struggle to identify on its own, such as clients spreading hedged positions across several brokers or using multiple accounts as part of the same underlying strategy.
As client numbers and trading volumes increase, this gives Spec Markets an additional layer of visibility, helping its teams identify potentially costly behaviour earlier and make more informed decisions on how client flow is managed.
On the execution side, Apex handles pricing, liquidity routing, hedging and execution configuration. The infrastructure is built to perform during periods of elevated market volatility, when execution quality has the greatest effect on client outcomes and broker profitability.
Spec Markets is deploying the risk tooling before further growth in client volumes, rather than adding controls once problems have emerged. In the retail CFD industry, investment in risk infrastructure has often followed client acquisition rather than preceded it.

Dennis Weissert, Chief Commercial Officer, Apex
"The best time to strengthen risk and execution infrastructure is before a broker's growth exposes its blind spots. By combining Radar's network-level intelligence with Apex's execution controls, Spec Markets is putting in place the visibility and infrastructure it needs to scale with confidence." - Dennis Weissert, Chief Commercial Officer, Apex

Lucy Lu, Director, Spec Capital Group
