Multi-asset FX and CFD broker Sterling Gent Trading Ltd (SGT) has appointed Andrew Gibson to its Business Development and Liquidity Management team, adding more than 40 years of global markets experience to the firm.
Founded in 2006, SGT operates under the SGT Markets and trademakers brands, providing spot FX and CFD trading, liquidity and execution services to institutional and experienced retail clients. The broker offers multi-asset market access via established trading platforms and connectivity tools, with an emphasis on deep liquidity and institutional-grade infrastructure.
Gibson joins SGT after an extensive career that most recently saw him serve as Head of Institutional Sales at Alfa Capital Markets in Cyprus. Prior to that, he held senior roles at BCS Group in Moscow, Fastmatch and Tradair, specialising in the sale of liquidity and technology solutions to institutional clients.
He began his career as a Futures Broker at Refco before moving into senior positions including FX Product Manager at ABN Amro Clearing Bank, where he played a key role in building the bank’s FX prime brokerage offering.

Martyn Price, CEO, Sterling Gent Trading Ltd (SGT)
SGT Chief Executive Officer Martyn Price said Gibson’s appointment comes as the broker continues to expand its institutional reach and deepen its liquidity solutions for professional clients.
We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the team. His depth of experience and proven track record in institutional sales, liquidity provision, and FX brokerage will be invaluable as we continue to expand our global footprint. Andrew’s strategic insight and industry relationships will help drive the next phase of SGT’s growth, particularly as we enhance our offering to asset managers and professional traders.
Martyn Price, CEO, Sterling Gent Trading Ltd (SGT)
Gibson’s remit at SGT will include building out a dedicated FX agency brokerage business and promoting SGT’s new Asset Manager Administration system, trademakers, which is designed to reduce fund administration costs and broaden access to investors.
Joining SGT is a tremendous opportunity for me. Part of my remit will be to develop a whole FX agency brokerage business. Another remit will be to market their brand-new Asset Manager Administration system, trademakers. This system reduces fund administration costs dramatically and opens up managers to additional investors.
These two businesses complement each other perfectly — the like of which I have never seen in over 40 years in the financial markets. I am looking forward to a very exciting new chapter in my career.
