Thunes Connects 11,500 Banks To Stablecoin Wallets Via Swift Network

      Published: just now

      Thunes

Thunes has announced that banks can now send real-time payments directly to stablecoin wallets using their existing Swift connectivity, opening access to more than 500 million wallets across the globe without requiring additional technical integration.

The Singapore-headquartered payments firm is extending its Pay-to-Stablecoin-Wallets solution to the 11,500 financial institutions connected to the Swift network. The solution, first launched in October 2025, supports USDC and USDT and enables cross-border payments to be made around the clock across more than 140 countries.

The move positions Thunes as an intermediary between conventional banking infrastructure and the digital assets ecosystem, allowing salary disbursements, personal remittances and business transfers to move from bank accounts to stablecoin wallets instantly. Recipients gain immediate access to funds at any hour, with the added benefit of exposure to dollar-denominated stablecoins rather than local currencies subject to volatility.

The announcement follows earlier rollouts by Thunes of Pay-to-Bank and Pay-to-Wallet solutions delivered through Swift connectivity. The stablecoin payout capability is underpinned by Thunes' SmartX Treasury System, which handles fiat-to-stablecoin liquidity, and its Fortress Compliance Platform, which is designed to provide end-to-end security and transaction traceability.

Thunes is a cross-border payments network whose Direct Global Network connects to over 12 billion mobile wallets, stablecoin wallets and bank accounts worldwide, as well as 15 billion cards via more than 220 payment methods. Its membership includes Uber, Deliveroo and WeChat.

Chloé Mayenobe, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Thunes said:

"This is a defining moment for cross-border payments. By combining Swift's secure and resilient global banking infrastructure with Thunes' payout solutions, we're unlocking a new era of global money movement. Banks can now move value instantly across any rail - fiat or stablecoin - within a trusted, compliant network, using their existing Swift connection. Thunes is powering borderless, digital-first payments and advancing our vision to connect the next billion users to the global economy."

Elie Bertha, Chief Product Officer, Thunes commented:

"Through a single Swift message, any bank can now deliver instant payouts to all key destinations including wallets, banks and stablecoin wallets around the world, without complexity or integration barriers. It's interoperability at its best, connecting banks, wallets, and digital currencies through one simple connection. This is set to follow stablecoin's transition from innovation to mass adoption at scale, matching high customer demand and solving real life challenges faced by millions of individuals or businesses worldwide due to currency volatility and a growing need for faster payments and access to hard currencies."
