The UNSW Commerce (International) Society is dedicated to creating opportunities for students to develop professionally, build meaningful connections, and gain insights into various industries. Through workshops, panels, and networking events, we aim to equip our members with the skills and confidence to thrive in their future careers.
On Thursday, 19 March, the Society successfully hosted Networking 101, an inspiring event designed to help students develop essential networking skills and connect with industry professionals.
The session featured five distinguished panelists from globally recognized organizations, including Microsoft, NAB, Pacific Equity Partners, Phenom Leap Education, and Alpha Omega. They shared personal career journeys, key lessons, and practical strategies to navigate the professional world, offering attendees valuable insights across industries such as finance, technology, consulting, and education.
Following the panel discussion, students participated in an interactive networking session, connecting directly with 10+ industry professionals. This hands-on experience allowed attendees to practice meaningful dialogue, ask thoughtful questions, and gain confidence in building professional relationships.
The event was met with tremendous enthusiasm, with students expressing appreciation for the approachable panelists, practical advice, and the opportunity to expand their professional networks. Networking 101 not only strengthened the bonds within the society but also fostered connections that will continue to benefit students long after the event.
