In my previous AUD/CHF price action forecast, published on 28 September 2026, I identified 0.58201–0.58365 as the key resistance zone to watch for a potential bearish setup, targeting 0.57732.
AUD/CHF reached the 0.57732 sell target last week, completing the downside objective outlined in that analysis.
The idea was straightforward: the weekly chart showed selling pressure at a higher-high area, while the daily and 4-hour charts already showed bearish structure. If sellers defended resistance and price confirmed the rejection, the next anticipated move was towards 0.57732.
For beginner traders, the important part is understanding how the setup was planned before the move—and why reaching resistance alone was not enough to enter.
The original forecast brought together three timeframes, each answering a different question.
| Timeframe | What the original analysis showed | Why it mattered |
| Weekly | Bullish structure with bearish rejection at a higher high | Suggested the broader uptrend could experience a pullback |
| Daily | Bearish structure and a head-and-shoulders neckline retest | Identified an area where sellers could defend resistance |
| 4-hour | Bearish structure with price below the 50 EMA | Added support to the shorter-term bearish outlook |
Together, these observations provided a reason to watch for a sell setup. Confirmation at resistance was still required.
Weekly Timeframe Price Action Analysis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2026. Price retesting
Weekly and Daily Resistance Level
The weekly chart remained in a bullish market structure, but price showed bearish candlestick rejection at a higher-high area.
Weekly timeframe Price Action Analysis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2026
In simple terms, price had pushed higher, but sellers were pushing it back down. Previous visits to the same area had also produced downside reactions.
This suggested that the upward move could pause and retrace.
A bullish weekly trend does not mean price moves higher every day. Smaller bearish moves can develop within that larger uptrend. The original AUD/CHF forecast focused on one of those potential pullbacks, rather than assuming the weekly trend had reversed.
Daily timeframe Price Action Analysis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2026. Price Broke Below Daily Support Level
The daily chart narrowed the focus to 0.58201–0.58365.
Price was below this resistance zone and was also retesting the neckline of a head-and-shoulders pattern.
Daily timeframe Price Action Analysis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2026. Price Retesting Both
Daily Resistance and Head and Shoulder Neckline
The neckline is the support boundary beneath the pattern. After price breaks below it, a return to that boundary can test whether former support has become resistance.
That made the area important: daily resistance and the neckline retest were pointing to the same potential selling region.
However, a marked resistance zone is only a place to observe price. The plan still needed evidence that sellers were defending it.
4H timeframe Price Action Analysis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2026.
The 4-hour chart also showed bearish structure, with price trading below the 50 EMA.
The EMA acted as an additional resistance reference, supporting the daily setup. Using the 50 EMA alongside price action helped assess whether the shorter-term direction remained aligned with the bearish forecast.
The reasoning was:
Weekly rejection suggested a pullback. Daily resistance identified the area to watch. The 4-hour chart supported the bearish direction.
Daily timeframe Price Action Analysis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2026. Bearish Bias Anticipation
The forecast did not call for selling simply because price touched 0.58201–0.58365.
Daily timeframe Price Action Analysis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2026. Bearish Take Profit and Stop-loss Placement
The original bearish plan required:
This sequence matters because price can pause at resistance and still break higher. Waiting for bearish candlestick confirmation helps distinguish a possible setup from a level that price merely touches.
The planned sequence: Retest resistance → Confirm rejection → Assess the entry and risk → Watch the downside target.
Daily timeframe Price Action Analysis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2026. Target Price Hit
Last week, AUD/CHF moved lower and reached 0.57732, completing the original bearish forecast objective
| Original Plan | Level or Requirement |
| Resistance to monitor | 0.58201–0.58365 |
| Required confirmation | Bearish rejection and downside follow-through |
| Anticipated bearish target | 0.57732 — reached |
| Bearish invalidation | A sustained break above 0.58365 followed by a successful support retest |
The target was identified in the earlier analysis, before the move was complete. That is what makes this a useful price action recap: it connects the original reasoning with the subsequent outcome.
Reaching the forecast target does not establish an individual trade’s profit. Actual results depend on the entry, stop-loss placement, position size and execution.
Daily timeframe Price Action Analysis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2026. Bullish Bias Anticipation
The original forecast also allowed for resistance to fail.
For the bullish scenario, AUD/CHF needed to break and close above 0.58365, then retest 0.58201–0.58365 and hold it as support. Bullish confirmation would have shifted attention towards 0.58750.
This break-and-retest approach defined what buyers needed to achieve before a recovery setup could be considered.
The purpose of having two scenarios was to prepare for either outcome. The bearish objective was subsequently reached, but each scenario still required its own confirmation before an entry.
The main lesson is how the forecast was built.
First, the analysis established the broader weekly context. Then it identified daily resistance and checked whether the 4-hour chart supported the same short-term direction. Finally, it defined confirmation, a target and conditions that would undermine the idea.
This creates a repeatable process:
Understand the trend.
Mark the level.
Wait for confirmation.
Define the risk.
With 0.57732 reached, the original downside objective is complete. Any new trade requires a fresh assessment of price action and market structure.
The goal is to prepare a clear plan before the move—and let price confirm whether that plan is ready to act on.
